To start off my research, I am looking into the New Urbanist Movement.  Considered the most important architectural movement to come out of the United States in decades, New Urbanism has its fair share of supporters and critics.  Most important to the development of my thesis is to discern what really WORKS for their new developments and see if that can be applied to the interior of a large scale adaptive reuse space.

This is a link to a set of photographs from the interior of the Tennessee Brewery Building.  The Brewery closed in 1954 and has been vacate ever since.  The facade was added to the National Registry of Historic Places in 1980.  Multiple attempts have been made to develop the property over the years, but with no success.

This is the Tennessee Brewery Building, the site for my thesis project.  Built in 1890, it rests on the bluffs of the Mississippi River in Memphis, Tennessee.
